Racist views at Homeliving

The Homeliving blog was started on December 3, 2004. But lately a post has appeared on January 3, 2003, supporting Lady Lydia’s views that black slaves lead a happy life. Suprised at the time gap….well Lady Lydia is well known for editing and re-editing controversial posts.
But be warned! The minute Lady Lydia knows that someone has criticised this post she is going to delete it.

This will give you some insight into the daily lives of the people at the time.

For further research: the natural born citizenship was created in order to give these people , former slaves, full citizenship in the U.S. It was not for the purpose of giving immigrants a chance to come to the US and have children to make them citizens and collect welfare or other government benefits.

The comments which first started the controversy were:
” don’t care about what the slaves did in Egypt, and I don’t care about the women in the factories in Victorian times, or the women in the work houses in Edwardian times. What I care about is what the Bible teaches women about how to live.” It is possible that even in the slave era in America, that many women stayed in their cabins having babies and fixing meals for their husbands in the cotton fields.
But then Lady Lydia deleted the original post, the minute Christians started protesting about this. So far Lady Lydia has deleted the posts on scantily-clad victims of Katrina, rude comments from her readers, What if article on black slaves being “happy in slavery,” and the posts on “silly women.”

Here’s a quote from a former South Carolina slave, Mrs. Aldeine Johnson, from the Slave Narratives of the 1930’s:

“After Freedom I marry a preacher, Tom Johnson. Him die when in his sixties, thirty years ago. I hope and prays to get to heaven. I’ll be satisfied to see my Savior that my old marster worshipped and my husband preach about. I want to be in heaven with all my white folks, just to wait on them, and love them, and serve them, sorta like I did in slavery time. That will be enough heaven for Adleine”‘

There are a lot more of these types of stories from former slaves than the other bad kinds. You have been brainwashed by northern writers of history that have been practicing their lies since Reconstruction. Know what that was? Twelve years of Federal military/ political occupation of the South. Done just like any other Marxist goverment in history.

Very sad. You are a prime example of Christian Evangelical non-schooling (home-schooling).

OR… if you can comprehend, home-schooling is the equivalent of being uneducated, developmentally delayed, and intellectually deficient .

Wow, seems a little unfair to throw all of us homeschoolers under the bus for the off base attitudes of one individual who may or may not have had that academic past. Any form of education is capable of producing “whackjobs”.

You’ve got to realize that no one would want to be a slave. Would you? Would you want your children to be? If this above quote is even accurate, it is one person of whom we don’t know much about. Also, for a lot of individuals, life after abolition was equally, or more, difficult, because of the conditions they found themselves in. Conditions that were just as unjust and unchristian and that continued for many, many years.
Who has been brainwashed here? Even if every slave was treated incredibly well (which we know is not true), they were still enslaved! I’m pretty sure you would feel differently if it were yourself or your own family.

  5. I found your blog on Bing with the irish fashion blogs. Keep posting! Love fashion.
